If you’re a regular here at Evolvor, then you know that we’re pretty much obsessed with Pearl Jam. That’s why today is a special day.
Pearl Jam have released the first single from their ninth studio album Backspacer. Radio stations are blasting the single and you too can check it out via the band’s MySpace page. Although we got a little taste of it during the MLB All-Star Game last week.
“The Fixer” is a tad short, under three minutes, it’s still one of those catchy tunes to tap your feet to. It took me a couple of listens to really get into it, but now this damn song is stuck in my head. We’ll keep you updated on where to buy the single, and when the except the Target commercial directed by Cameron Crowe will see light.
In other Pearl Jam news, you can pre-order the new album on CD and vinyl, as well as, a 7-inch “The Fixer” single at the band’s official site. Or, you can wait until September 20 and pick up Backspacer at your local Target or indie record shop. Either way, I can’t wait until 9/20.
Here’s the track listing for Backspacer:
1. Gonna See My Friend
2. Got Some
3. The Fixer
4. Johnny Guitar
5. Just Breathe
6. Amongst The Waves
7. Unthought Known
8. Supersonic
9. Speed Of Sound
10. Force Of Nature
11. The End
And, in case your wondering, “The Fixer” is the second track that we’ve heard from the new album. Remember the band debuted “Got Some” during the Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien back on June 1. I like how Pearl Jam is starting to promote this album, just giving us a taste here and there. It’s enough to satisfy our hunger, but doesn’t stuff us, leaving us to want more.
